About Monzanita's Web Design Services

About Monzanita's Name

Monzanita is a nickname that one of my uncles gave me when I was a kid. It was a play on the word Manzanita, a plant that we had everywhere when I was growing up in Northern California. I use Monzanita or Monzanita's for all of my creative endeavors, including my web design company.

My Relationship With Web Design

One year in high school, I didn't get good enough grades. As a punishment, my father handed me a thick HTML 4 book so I could build a website by the end of the summer. I was already in many graphics classes so I was able to incorporate my love of art and design into creating a website.

During high school and college, I continued to work on websites and design. Our high school had a program where we were able to leave campus for half of the day and attend a technical school. I studied web design there, and in my first year, they had me working on client websites because I already knew the basics. With this school, I was also able to compete in the SkillsUSA program, where I made it to the nationwide competition.

I took a break from the web design world for a few years as I stayed home with my babies. In those few years so much changed. Mobile websites became more and more necessary and design became cleaner and sharper. I stumbled upon a GoDaddy job listing right around the time I was re-entering the work world and started in tech support.

In tech support, I learned about the technical aspects of hosting and domains, and ways to explain them to customers that may not be as tech savvy. It was my mission to get into the web design team so I could get back to what I really loved. I did make it onto the Professional Web Services team, as a web design representative and I spent a year there before pursuing my own venture.

Monzanita's Web Design Company Plan

My experience designing websites for a larger company has given me the tools to plan out what I want to do for my customers within my own business. I am able to not only design a website for you but also maintain it and teach you how to use it. The hardest part of creating a website is usually getting the images and the verbiage, so that is a service I offer as well. My first initial consultation is an in-depth, no obligation consultation where I get to know your business and your customers and I work to understand exactly what you need in a website. I offer customized quotes on your project so that you are not over paying for a one-size-fits-all plan.

I'm Monica Jamer. I'm California born and I grew up in Arizona. I love the outdoors, art, and traveling. When I'm not working on the computer I am always out with my kids and husband relaxing at the beach, exploring a new part of town or visiting farmer's markets.
