Business Ethics and Providing You Value

My business ethics and values are something that I have been developing most of my adult life. I look at many companies who are “ethical” and I still see things I don’t agree with. Having my own small business gives me the opportunity to practice business ethics that I wish more companies would have.

I was in sales and I was never any good at it. As a result, I struggled to meet my quotas. My supervisor and sales mentor often accused me of “shopping out of my own pocket”. My manager brought me into the office for extra one-on-one training to try to teach me better sales techniques. They wanted me to turn tech support calls into sales. If someone was calling for help I did not want to sell them something just to make a sale. Also, I would not sell them something that I didn’t think they needed or push them into purchasing something. I especially struggled to sell to small businesses that were just starting out and didn’t have much cash flow. I struggled along barely keeping my job until I could find a better opportunity in another department.

This sales experience was definitely a learning experience for me. I learned that I was a better person than I had thought. Also, I learned that my idea of business ethics was quite a bit different than the company I worked for. I am proud that I didn’t let the job tear away at my own personal moral standards.

My business ethics

  • To Never Overcharge
  • To Be Transparent
  • Provide Value for Your Money
  • To Improve Your Business

Most of my business is building websites or redesigning websites. I try to provide value for what I charge. Because I know you have DIY website builders and tools to do things yourself, which can save money but not usually time.

I always want to have a consultation with you to decide what is best for your business. Sometimes we have decided that one of the do-it-yourself website builders is the best option for your business. For those with more time available than money doing work yourself can be the more frugal option.

There can be more value in an expert building you a website. My experience saves time as I can build a website much faster than the average person just learning. Also, I have the tools ready and purchased to help your website do what you need it to do. Additionally, I have the experience to have more traffic directed to your web site using search engine optimization.

If I am not saving you time or providing needed expertise there is no reason to take your money.
